In this course, students will read and interpret a wide range of literature by African-American authors. They will be introduced to African-American thought through readings of authors of African descent in diverse genres and modalities. Students will engage actively with the literary texts as well as the interpretations and insights of their classmates, and they will apply critical thinking skills to assess literary works.
