FRN 101	Beginning Conversational French I In this course, students acquire practical early-elementary conversational skills. They develop the ability to understand and speak everyday conversational French within the context of French-speaking cultures and through introduction of vocabulary, basic grammatical structures and idioms. Listening activities and some reading/writing activities will be included. Students are expected to spend considerable time outside of class practicing with materials provided. FRN 111	First Year French I This is a beginning and transferable course in French which emphasizes communicative approach. Class work and aural/oral practice sessions assist the student in progressing effectively in the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. FRN 122	First Year French II This course is a continuation of First Year French, in which students learn more advanced verb tenses and sentence construction. Through classroom activities, students improve their listening comprehension, reading, writing and communication skills in French, which help them acquire basic conversational tools of the language.
