In this course, students will learn advanced chord formations (Major 7th, Minor 7th, and Dominant 7th chords) and how to apply them in a song. It also covers major scales, minor scales and melodic performance in diverse keys. Students will also explore improvisation and self-expression in musical performance. Students with experience equivalent to MUS 133 may contact the instructor for permission to waive the MUS prerequisite. Level I Prerequisite: No Basic Skills; MUS 133 minimum grade "C"
