Working in team-based settings, students will simulate real-world shop workflows, rotating roles to build collaboration, efficiency, and accountability. The course also introduces students to industry expectations through professional communication, time management, and exposure to automotive performance trends aligned with SEMA-style builds. This experiential course prepares students for advanced opportunities in automotive service, customization, and performance industries. Electric Vehicle ConversionThis hands-on, project-based course introduces students to the fundamentals of electric vehicle (EV) conversion. Students will apply principles of high-voltage safety, battery systems, electrical wiring, and EV component integration while converting an internal combustion engine vehicle to electric power. Emphasis is placed on sustainable and emerging transportation technologies, system design, installation procedures, and team-based collaboration in a lab environment. Upon completion, students will demonstrate safe work practices and the ability to plan and execute key phases of an EV conversion project. This course may be used as a restrictive elective in the Transportation Technologies (APOETT) degree program. |
