In this course, students will develop elementary-level Spanish comprehension and communication skills. The language fundamentals of listening, speaking, reading, and writing are emphasized. Students will recognize and apply practical vocabulary, useful expressions, and grammatical structures in a variety of communicative activities. Cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world are also discussed. Due to the interactive nature of this course, active participation is required. Note - this course is not intended for native Spanish speakers. Students with three or more years of previous Spanish study should take the Spanish placement test or contact an advisor for proper course placement.
